Charcoal Atelier Privacy Policy

In short: Charcoal Atelier does not collect, store, or share any of your personal information. Your drawings and reference images stay on your iPad unless you choose to export or share them.

This policy explains how the Charcoal Atelier app for iPad ("the app"), published by Skyleaf Design ("we", "us"), handles your information.

Information we collect

We do not collect any information from you or your device. The app has:

no accounts or sign-in;
no analytics, crash-reporting, or usage tracking;
no advertising, and no advertising identifiers;
no third-party SDKs that collect data.

The current version of the app does not connect to our servers or to any other internet service.

Your drawings

Everything you create in the app — drawings, canvases, settings, and the reference images you add — is stored only on your iPad, inside the app's private storage. We never receive a copy.

Like any app's data, it may be included in backups of your device that you make with iCloud or a computer. Those backups are managed by Apple under your device settings, not by us.

Photos

If you allow it, the app reads your photo library to load reference images, including stepping through a sequence of photos for a drawing exercise. This happens entirely on your device. Picking a single reference image works without granting library access. Images you choose as references are copied into the app's own storage on your iPad so they remain available to your drawings.

The app adds images to your photo library only when you choose to save an exported drawing there.

You can change photo access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.

When you export or share a drawing — for example to the Files app, AirDrop, Messages, or another app — the file goes only where you send it. What happens to it there is governed by that destination's own privacy practices.

Deleting your data

Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPad (apart from any device backups you keep).

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app adds features that send information off your device — such as syncing drawings between devices or creating an account — we will update this policy and the app's App Store privacy details before that version is released, and describe exactly what is sent and why. The effective date above shows when this policy last changed.
